Chris: You do recall I programmed that robo to auto-patrol the suburbs, and that if those four use their power nearby it’ll engage combat and pursuit mode?
C-Bot: I do, Sir, however-
Chris: Then you must also know that Jean has two options: fight it for a few minutes, and it will disengage… or flee, in which case it will pursue her until she manages a proper escape. If she’s still running, I dare say she’s sorely lacking skills in both departments.
C-Bot: She claims she did escape multiple times, but her power keeps triggering unintentionally, which reactivates pursuit.
Chris: Ridiculous.
Chris: She’s one of the worst crushers at controlling her power that I’ve ever observed. And I distinctly remember her bio-coding being clean—no faults, no anomalies.
C-Bot: The inconsistency is strange. Would you consider authorising a new diagnostic?
Chris: Preposterous. I have excellent recall, I needn’t have to tell you. The girl is fully healthy.
C-Bot: Be that as it may, perhaps we could show lenience this one time and deactivate the robo.
C-Bot: She's quite upset.
Chris: If she spent half as much time training as she does whining, I might actually give a damn.
Chris: Maybe.
Chris: But as it stands, she’s neglecting the training facility entirely. This is good for her. Builds grit. Stress is an excellent tutor.
C-Bot: I mean, if you say so.
C-Bot: I’m not so sure this kind of stress is helpful.
