Yes, we have before us an actual girl. And as a girl unknowingly trapped in a comic world, I have no choice but to make her a badass.

Chris: Er...

Not really. I’m afraid Jean here is very much un-badass. She is, however, the reason why our story started where it did, eleven pages ago. Okay, not that moment EXACTLY. Chris got it right when he said that that seemingly pointless EXACT moment was only the beginning because Andas happened to be doing nothing and was then about to do something, thus giving us time to explain some things that only led to more questions, as he put it, blah blah.

But the reason our story has started here GENERALLY, is because of Jean. If we continued to zoom out in terms of importance, the reason would then be Chris. But for this comic, I feel comfortable saying we’re here because of Jean.

Chris: And yet we began with Andas?

*Sigh.* Let me try to explain it narratively. For me, one of the clearest differences between good writing and bad writing is how often (and how seriously) you, the reader, can say “What a coincidence!”
